CrossFit and Visalus makes a powerful combination when used correctly.  Check out Laykyn’s story of how CrossFit training in conjunction with the Body by Vi meal plan assisted her with releasing over 100 pounds.

Here’s Laykyn’s story:

I decided to join the Body By Vi challenge because I am only twenty years old and have struggled with being overweight for most of my life. I have tried every diet under the sun since I was in the seventh grade. The different diets I tried worked for like two weeks and then things always seemed to go haywire. So I always gave up in the end when things got tough. Throughout junior high and high school I struggled with being overweight and I had low self-esteem because of it. But during the summer of 2011 that little light bulb finally went on in my head. I told myself that I could not continue on like this because there are places I want to see and things I want to accomplish and also I did not want to die young. I finally realized that if I wanted this bad enough I had to put in the hard work, effort, and have the determination in order to make it happen.

So I officially started with my journey working out at next level fitness on august 1, 2011 at 320 pounds with a goal in mind to lose 170 pounds in one year. I couldn’t believe I actually loved working out and was seeing awesome results, but I was looking for something more with the diet/nutrition side of it. So many people that I’ve worked out with would always talk about Body By Vi and how easy it was. So I decided to try it out for myself and see what would happen. I will admit I was a little hesitant at first because I have tried so many things before. I started my first 90 day challenge with a few other people on September 21, 2011 at 295 pounds. My goal for this challenge was to lose 30 pounds and feel good about myself. It was a little weird at first drinking a shake for breakfast and lunch but then I realized how much easier it was to make a shake then do a quick run at the drive-thru. I was finally feeling good about myself and was amazed at the results I was seeing. I ended my first 90 day challenge on December 19, 2011 at 252 pounds. I could not believe I lost 43 pounds in 90 days and I definitely passed my goal of 30 pounds.

I was so happy with the results I received, that I started my second 90 day challenge the next day. I made a new year’s resolution to reach the 100lb lost mark by Valentine’s Day or else I would do a Crossfit WOD of 100 Burpees & a 1 Mile Run (these are the two things I dislike the most). February 14 came and I made it, I weighed in at 118.8, which translates into 101 pounds since I started my journey august 1, 2011. I am not done yet, I have 69lbs. to go and the determination to make it. Thank you visalus for creating the 90 day challenge and changing so many people’s lives.
